Hailing from Powder Springs, Georgia, Morris Almond has genuine ties to the area where his prep hoops career began.
The son of a 22-year Army veteran and a 7th grade middle school teacher, Almond is a proud ’03 graduate of McEachern High School. Following his high school and AAU career, where he competed with the Georgia Stars, Almond went on to accept a basketball scholarship to Rice University in Houston, Texas. After finishing his senior season third
in the NCAA in scoring at 26.4 ppg, Almond graduated with a degree in business management, and went on to be drafted in the 1st Round of the ’07 NBA Draft to the Utah Jazz with the 25th overall pick.
Along with the Jazz, Almond has enjoyed a seven-year professional career that has included stints with the Orlando Magic and the Washington Wizards, as well as several EuroLeague teams in Spain and Italy.
